Guy Edward Blatnick Obituary Utah - City View Mortuary - Salt Lake City Obituaries

Guy passed away peacefully at home after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frank Leonard Blatnick and Ruby Naurice Clements Blatnick. He grew up in a large family with many brothers and sisters. Scott, Terry, Merlin, Kim, Robert, Alan, Cindy, Lori, Debbie, Sheri, Kevin, and Tammy.

He married Jenny Hamman in October of 1980. They lived a happy life together until her passing in 2017.

He is survived by five children: Adrienne (Joseph), Sarah (Tyler), Christine (Gerrin), Joshua (Aubrey), and Brandon. Grandchildren: Madison, Parker, Christian, Sequoia, Ashton, Angelina, Talon, Gabby, Ashley, and Bentley. With seven (an eighth on the way) great-grandchildren. Sisters: Debbie, Sheri, and Tammy. Special friends: Dan, Dustin, Kristy, Rebecca, and Tammy.

Dad loved to restore muscle cars and was the best backyard mechanic. Often helping friends and family with car repairs. He enjoyed time spent with his brother Merlin, riding their Harley’s and stopping in for a famous Astro burger.

Dad was a storyteller; he had a great memory and was always sharing outrageous, wild, and funny stories from his life. He had a profound sense of humor, used plenty of swear words, and made up the funniest euphemisms. His laughter will be a sound we will sorely miss.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Havard and staff of The Utah Cancer Center, and to Wendy and staff of Hospice for Utah for the excellent care and love they provided our father during a time he needed them most.

As we bid farewell to our father, we ask for comfort and peace for our family. May we find solace in the memories we shared and the love he instilled in us.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life at City View Mortuary, 1001 E. 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Monday, April 7th from 5-8 pm. There will be an opportunity to share fond memories of Guy, from 6-7 pm, with all in attendance.
