Lawrence Douglas Young

Feb 6, 1950 – October 2, 2016

Salt Lake City, UT- Our loving brother and uncle Larry Douglas Young passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66 on October 2, 2016 at his cabin in Heber. His four legged best friend, Sheldon was by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joan & Douglas S. Young, sister Sandra Montano and his beloved standard poodles.

Larry was well traveled, loved the symphony and the arts and as an avid outdoor enthusiast he truly appreciated all the beauty Utah has to offer. Larry and his dog Sheldon enjoyed City Creek Canyon on a daily basis. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, he graduated from West High in 1968. He retired after 25 years at the University of Utah, after which he continued to be a contributor of "The U". Larry also recently beat lung cancer with help from the great staff at the University Hospital.

Survived by; his brother Robert James (Robin) Young, his niece Angela Hymas & nephew Adam Young. Brother in law, Tony Montano, niece Dione Montano & nephew Paul Montano, and of course his dog Sheldon.

A celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday, Oct 19 from 6 – 8 pm at City View Mortuary, 1001 East 11 ^th Avenue SLC, UT 84103.
