Leah Bowden Westbrook, 74, of Salt Lake City, Utah, loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away on October 15th, 2020.
Leah was born in Vernal, Utah on February 22nd, 1946 to Wesley and Eunice Bowden. After graduation, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she married her husband James (Jim) Westbrook on August 16th, 1966. They had two children, daughter Tammey and son Jason.
As a child, Leah loved spending time with her grandma Bowden and Aunt Ethel. She enjoyed sewing and won several 4H ribbons for her sewing skills. She loved listening to baseball games on the radio and after moving to Salt Lake City she fell in love with attending live baseball games with her family. She enjoyed camping, cooking, planting flowers, and attending Utah Utes women’s gymnastics competitions. Christmas was her favorite holiday and looked forward to spending the holidays with her family every year.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in various callings over the years and enjoyed attending church activities.
Survived by her children Tammey Westbrook and Jason Westbrook of Salt Lake City, UT, sister Gail Bowden of Sarasota, FL, sister-in-law Bonnie Bowden of Lehi, UT and sister-in-law Shona Bowden of Homer, AK. She is preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Westbrook, daughter-in-law Tina Westbrook, sister Loretta Ryan (Jerry), brother Floyd Bowden (Darlene), Wayne Bowden (JoAnn), brother Dale Bowden, brother Glen Bowden, and her parents, Wesley and Alice (Eunice) Bowden.
The viewing and funeral services will be held at City View Mortuary located at 1001 E. 11th Ave. Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday, October 30th, 2020. The viewing will be from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral services begin at 11 am.
