“Beloved Sister”

Salt Lake City, UT – My sweet sister, Monica Sanchez, age 52 passed away January 5, 2019. She was born May 8, 1966 in Salt Lake City, UT to Jose Leroy and Fumi Sanchez.

Monica worked as a vocational rehabilitation counsler for the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation and enjoyed helping people who were down on their luck to succeed. Monica was very much loved by all. She attended Judge Memorial High School and went on to Westminster College graduating with a degree in Communications. She had a true love for animals, especially dogs.  She took special care of her little dog Tinna which brought her true joy. Monica is somebody who would do anything for you and always trusted the best in people.

Survived by her brother Fred and his wife Brenda, and her nephew Jeffrey and his wife Jamie.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 am, Saturday, January 12, 2019, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am at City View Mortuary (1001 East 11th Avenue – Salt Lake City).

    I loved Monica so very much…she was a very thoughtful persona & she will b missed greatly…Monica was so many things…her & I learned water painting together, she learned crocheting, she mad little baby clothes for Charlie(my dog) it was pretty funny how she attaches to things then would b done w it….after her loss of Starly ( her dog of many yrs). I remember how down she was & against her wishes convinced her to get Tinna..Which was then the love of her life..Her & I spent much time together & I will miss her & what t future possible held….Her Aunt Emma was a powerful influence for t positive for her & she talked of her always…I will miss u Mon!!

    Monica was a gentle and kind person and I loved her very much. She will be missed. Our prayers go out to you Freddy and your family. Uncle Leroy and Aunt Funi will be taking her home now,
