Obituary

Virginia Acocks passed away peacefully on March 7, 2023, while in the care of the loving staff at Cedarwood of Sandy, and from Canyon Hospice. Virginia was born in Gunnison, Utah on May 6, 1932.  Virginia married Robert (Bob) Acocks on September 1, 1948, and together they had 5 children.

Virginia had a wonderfully subtle sense of humor that would make everyone laugh.

She had a kind and loving attitude that touched anyone who took the time to know her.

Virginia's pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Reading, fishing, camping, and trips to the canyons for family breakfasts were Virginia's favorite things to do.  Virginia loved spending time with her 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and her great-great-granddaughter.

Virginia is proceeded in death by her mother, Margaret Rose Galpin, sisters, Karen, Arlene, and Pat, husband Robert Acocks, and daughter, Kathleen (Dixon).  She is survived by daughters Joann Young (Gaylen), and Sandra Stoddard (Ed), her son, Coy (Terry), and her brother, Jerry Galpin (Marie).

A viewing will be held at City View Mortuary, 1001 E 11 th Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 12:30, followed by a graveside service at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah at 3:00.
