24 Oct Paul Douglas Kloer
January 12, 1943 – October 2, 2022
I was born on January 12, 1943, in Brigham City, Utah to Walter Wayne Richardson (deceased) and Hilma Yeates Kloer (deceased). I was raised and later adopted by Ernest Othal Kloer (deceased on August 6th 1984). I was raised on 600 north American Beauty Drive (1947 to 1960) in Rose Park. I attended Onequa Elementary School, Jackson Jr. High, and West High School in Salt Lake City. I entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and honorably discharged in 1963. I continued my education attending Long Beach and Compton City Colleges in Southern CA., the Utah State Police officer standards and training (P.O.S.T.) along with yearly training throughout my 30 years before retiring May 15, 2008.
I married Billy Jean Oyler on June 30, 1964. We moved to Long Beach, CA and later in 1973 we were divorced. We had he two most beautiful, wonderful daughters ever. Our first daughter Cora Jean Richardson (now Tara Gallop) gave me three fabulous granddaughters Honey, Marlee, and Arielle. Our second daughter Terri Lynn Richardson also provides me with three outstanding granddaughters, Milessa, Laura, and Annika and one awesome grandson, Vito, now serving proudly in the U.S. Air Force.
I am so proud of my granddaughters as they continued their education. Honey graduated from U.C.L.A. with honors, a law degree from George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C., and Laura for her B.A. from Long Beach State University and Marlee who graduated with honors from Santa Monica City College.
On a wonderful bright and sunny Wednesday afternoon I first saw a beautiful outstanding and gorgeous woman at our swimming pool her name was Ann Johnson. I don’t know how I was so lucky, we were married on August 21, 1983, in Elko, NV. Annie had a daughter, Jodie, a cute little blonde that provided us with an incredibly special granddaughter, Finley Rue. Jodie had a unique talent for education, achieving her B.A. from the U of U and a master’s from Westminster College.
My memberships included The Fraternal Order of Eagles (gold card) Aries # 67, American Legion Post # 112, Utah Peace Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, AFL-CIO-AFSME local 1006.
